The case of Australian Cricket

It is 3 May 1995 and thanks to a brilliant Steve Waugh, 200 have the Antilles in the last test Australia Frank Worrell trophy by Bobby again Simpson's team capitulated in 1977-78, and ended in defeat West Indies 15 years without a number. From this point on Australia have enjoyed a long period of dominance of the team match that famous day beat. Until now.

Although Australia are still up on the ICC test rankings, struggling to fend off South Africa's bid for your number 1 ranking. Last week Andrew Strauss, not known for the production of fat statements about opponents during the middle of a crucial series, said that he believes, overlooking Australia "...""feels like you against all other test teams play." This was comments previously by Graeme Smith and Anil Kumble similar.

So have we reached the end of an era? Or is this just a temporary blip in a more era of Australian dominance?

Certainly when we look at the test match records of the five leading countries in the ICC rankings since January 2008, by chance if Adam Gilchrist, the last of the Holy Trinity with McGrath and Warne, retirement, Australia definitely brought back on the packaging.

Most Australians are right out the baggy Greens have had a tough schedule during this time with home and away series against South Africa and an away series against India and the current ashes competition. Fair point, but as proven during her dominance only tours to India consistently difficult for Australia to win.

During the same press conference Strauss went say that "I think this Australian site has an aura about it to be honest with you and before we start this test series feel, had an aura about you." This is hardly surprising, given, the long list of the all-time great and/or very good players who have in the past three years in retirement: McGrath, Warne, Gilchrist, Langer, Hayden, Martyn, Gillespie and MacGill. Each team in each sport players of this caliber would struggle in such a short time to replace.

Although some of the replacements for these big names already a trademark (Haddin, Johnson and Hughes to name but three) have made, it takes some time to achieve consistency, which can only come from experience and familiarity of play in a team that has grown. In fact, inconsistency, a loss of the ability to kill team switched off and the absence of the fear factor from other sites seem to be Australia's major problems at the moment.

The inconsistency pointed out clearly been while the current ashes series with Johnson and Hughes in particular struggling to maintain the excellent starts both your test career had made. In addition to Johnson's troubles injuries and the lack of a genuine test class spin option Lee and Clark made toothless the Aussie attack in times. The batting side given Hussey's continuing search for form can be called really world only Ponting and Clarke at the moment.

The loss of the killer instinct is only as strong. The Australian summer chased to win 414 in Perth South Africa, recovering from 184 / 7 459 in the 1st book and then almost survived innings during the victory in Melbourne, Australia in Sydney. All added up Australia's first series production loss at home in 15 years. The incredible survival of England in Cardiff is yet another example of Australia missing teeth. Can someone a team with McGrath and Warne throw those away win positions in Perth, Melbourne and Cardiff imagine?

As Strauss also said that factor playing fear Australia has been assigned, with teams no longer fear a dramatic chase, if you have the Aussies under the COSH got. "We felt sure that in the 2006-07." Even though we had good days, we were thinking, what will happen now. "Gilchrist going is hundred or Warne blast five wickets from take anything?" Who should be rapid now take five?

Without a doubt Australia are still a good site and have always strip sarouel green leading competitiveness which bear by each team. This proved it back on its feet to Graeme Smith's side in the return series in South Africa, where not many sides win. Any team who can count a dangerous side, and Strauss Ponting, Clarke, Haddin, Lee and an in-form Johnson in its ranks would be ill advised to think that the reconquest of small URN is inevitable this summer. However, while one of the top sites the days remain the Australian all conquest for now,.

As such, even matching series such as the current battle of ashes and the recent competitions between Australia and South Africa cricket fans can look forward. Roll up!
